Are you a lover of travel, or have someone you need to buy for this Christmas that loves to travel? Well in this series of travel gift guides, the team at We Blog Travel, are using our expertise to source the best travel gifts for you to buy this year. These are tried and tested ones, that we highly recommend.
As with all gift giving, its finding something that the person is going to really love. In this guide we are concentrating on ladies who have the infamous wanderlust, and we’ve found some great items that we are sure you are going to love!
First up is a photography course at your local Jessops store – Jessops Academy. I test drove one of these courses over the weekend, and can definitely recommend them. Suitable whatever level you are at, and come in at various prices. Being able to use your camera is essential if you are wanting to record your holiday in style. Full details can be found HERE.
When you travel, it’s so important to have a decent camera bag too. Here is one that I have been testing out recently from Case Logic. It extremely robust, shower resistant, with a fixed base that adds even more durability and stability. It fits up to 4 lenses as well as the camera too. With plenty of pockets to add other bits and pieces. I have used it on my last two trips, and it was excellent, lightweight, and confortable to wear across the body. Great value at £59.99, further details can be found HERE.
Every traveller must have a good pair of sunglasses. Whether to genuinely not get sun in your eyes, or to cover up those eyes when you don’t have the time to apply make-up, adventure is far more important, don’t you think? Maui Jim has lots of styles on offer, the classic but modern aviator pictured at £235 is perfect and won’t ever date. They come in a really robust case as well, so perfect for travelling. A good pair of sunglasses will take you anywhere!
Lumie Zest – £125. The travel sized light therapy and alarm clock in the Lumie range. Jet lag can be a nightmare to get over, and with this light it could be a whole lot easier. I’ve not been able to test this out yet, but will definitely be doing so on the next trip I take that involves different time zones. I’m a firm believer in light therapy in winter months though, and this would be great if the person suffers with SAD. I have used another of the lights in the range, and it definitely made a big difference. Lots of hints and tips on how to effectively use it for jet lag are on the Lumie website.
We’ve been testing out two of the range from Sensio Spa, a sonic facial cleanser and a deep poor cleanser. Just because you are travelling doesn’t mean that you have to give up your skin care routine. Both of these products are pretty neat, and would fit easily within a travel wash bag.
The Sensio Spa Sonic Cleanser – £70, is great if want to have a facial and exfoliate your skin, giving yourself that holiday glow. I find on holiday when using lots of sunscreen, especially on a city break, my skin gets dirty, and my pores blocked. So this will definitely be coming with me from now on. It can be set at different levels including sensitive. Its cordless and rechargeable so perfect for travel.
A little innovative silicone cleanser that’s suitable for all skin types, our Deep Pore Cleanser gently pulsates to remove impurities, clean out clogged pores, help remove any residual make-up and enable better skin care absorption. It is much more effective than using your hands alone!
This is one is so small, its perfect for a shorter weekend break. We can can definitely recommend both of these Sensio cleansers!
One of my personal nightmares when travelling is when my battery runs out. It has happened to me before, leaving me stranded with no working camera or phone. I do now carry an extra battery pack, but like most travellers I have more than one device that I need to charge, phone, camera and even Go Pro? So you need something with some extra omph! So that’s why we have included the Powermonkey Explorer 2 -£79 in this gift list. Capable of recharging an iPhone 5 up to three times, a GoPro Hero3+ four times and a Garmin Edge 1000 four times. It is also compatible with a plethora of other devices such as tablets (including iPad), iPods, digital cameras, sat phones and more.
Musing about your next adventure, is another thing travellers love to do. So how about buying some books this Christmas to help with their plan making for the next trip away. Here are two new Lonely Planet titles about food and wine that would certainly whet their appetite.
Stocking Fillers
- We love these as an alternative to bringing a glass bottle of perfume on holiday with you. Scentered therapy balms – £14.50 are a marriage of scent and aromatherapy. I tested out the escape and relaxed balms on a recent trip, and found they were great to add to my hand luggage and use on the plane.
- A travel candle, might seem like an indulgence, but when it smells like this one, it feels like a travel essential, believe me. I’ve never used such a gorgeous smelling candle as this Willow and Honey – £12.50.
- Mosquito’s can be a travellers nightmare, and any help to deter them is greatly received. Incognito is an incredibly strong mosquito repellent, they are clinically proven to provide 100% protection against all mosquitoes. I would very much welcome these in my stocking!
So that is our travel gift list for ladies this Christmas, are there any that you would add?
